If you know someone who takes as many pictures as I do (is that possible??) let them know about this website so you don't have to look at ten thousand different pictures (separately anyway...) each month!

Storms, Shapes, Diva in Training, & Old Macdonald
I have grrrrreat intentions of updating the blog and then something else will catch my attention and I am off...so while I have a rare Monday with Jon home, I thought I'd play catch up...
Natalie is growing growing and she had her first hair cut (trim of about 1/8 mm out of her eyes - just enough for me to have a 'first curl' for her scrapbook!) and I've been trying to put bows in it more...she hates it! I have to fight her for it but she looks so cute if I can manage!
Her Mimi bought her some bright pink shoes with squeakers in the soles...and she LOVES them. Now when we go out she wants to walk everywhere and step as hard and fast as she can to squeak as many times as she can. Then when someone says, "aww, look at her!" She will look up and grin and wave as though she knows everyone must be talking about or to her! I have NO idea where she gets any of that from! Oh and she is so funny about shoes now. She wakes up and the first thing she does is point to her shoe shelf and say, "shoes, bye bye!" It's so cute with her bed head she is ready to go out the door! I took her to buy shoes and when we entered the store, she looked all around and said, "shooooooes!" like she was in shoe heaven! I cracked up!
She has been working on shapes for a while now and the past couple of weeks she can put most of her shapes into the different shape sorters without any help at all! She has letters A,B,C,D as well on her favorite barn toy and she can do all four of those as well. We are quite proud!
She loves to sing and loves to have Jon and I sing to her. She will make song requests to us by singing a little of the song, grinning at both of us and waiting for us to start singing. If one of us sings and the other does not, she will look at the one of us NOT singing until we start! Her favorites are 'Ol MaGowah' (Old Macdonald) and 'Ba Ba' (Bah Bah Black Sheep) and 'spied' (Itsy Bitsy Spider) where we also BETTER do the hand motions while singing or one diva will correct us on our behavior by doing some of the motions herself and yelling out like, "no, this way!"
The storms were bad last night, the worst we've seen since living in Paulding County. Jon decided last night that he would stay home and all night we would get up to check how far the water had risen toward our basement...the waiting game was hard. We just didn't know (even until that last terrible storm was over this morning around 7am) if our basement would flood or not. Our neighbors to the immediate right (if you are looking at our house) were not so lucky. They had water to their waists in their basement and a truck sitting in their back yard had water up to the hood. It was horrible for them. We are hoping/praying that the storms are less severe tonight.

I guess not! I am trying to get up to date - so trying out this picasa collage with EVERY pic from her birthday! I'll post individual pics too, but here's a sneak peek...

I have been taking pictures - weekly in fact - but I haven't been updating the blog. I am keeping up with pictures on facebook, a book on blurb.com that goes week by week, and her scrapbook and professional pics every 2-3 months...I just need to get a lot of it on HERE! I have her last couple of giraffe pics to put up too...can't believe I took the LAST giraffe pics a few weeks ago, just after her 1st birthday. I'll update that slide show for the last time this week, but I'll also put a pic from that here...
Miss Natalie is becoming a little more...demanding...now. I have been trying to slowly wean her from the bottle since her 1st birthday. With breakfast and lunch now she gets milk in her sippy cup. She still needs a bottle to go to sleep - nap and bedtime at night. Today, however, she had her own plans. For Father's day, we went to church and she played with the 'big kids' on the playground. She got very sleepy and took a two hour nap with us. (yay!) When she woke up, I tried to feed her lunch, since she fell asleep before she could eat lunch. She was not having it. I took her out of her high chair and walked in the kitchen. She lunged forward, index finger pointed, and shouted "THAT!!!" She was pointing to her bottle drying rack. There was NO mistaking what she wanted. I was not ready to give in. I had Jon pour milk in a sippy cup for her. She took one sip, slammed the cup back down and did it again: "THAT!!!!!!!" she pointed at her bottles. I gave in. We gave her a bottle in her high chair. She drank non-stop for about 2-3 mintues, slammed the bottle down while saying, "AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Then, "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM", smiled, and drank the rest of her bottle! Well...why not? She's only 13 months old...guess there's time enough for weaning...
Her favorite word is "Yeah." You can ask her any question, such as, "Natalie, are you hungry?" "Yeah" she says. "Natalie, did you poop?" "YEAH!" "Natalie, why will you not nap today?" "Daddy!" "You won't nap because Daddy's home?" "YEAH!"...she's so funny! She does some animal sounds. She brought me the chicken from her little barn today, saying, "bock bock!" it was so cute! she does "Baaahh baahh" for the sheep and 'ssssss' for the snake. She loves Baby Einstein videos and loves to watch the same one over and over. Whoever made those videos with a 'repeat play' option needs to be paid the big bucks...
She loves to say, "ROOOOOAAAAARRRR" like a tiger and will do that over and over. She walks all the time now unless she's playing 'charge' with Daddy. They charge each other on hands and knees, and Natalie squeals and laughs and face plants because she gets so excited. She's so much fun now, for the most part, I just wish she'd get a break from teething and would STOP biting! And NO, I'm not going to bite her back. I think that's sadistic and cruel and if one more person suggests that to me I am going to scream, I don't care if it worked for you! Sorry...had to rant there a little...! More pics soon and YES I am going to try to update the blog more...! :-)

CUTE CUTE CUTE!
I LOVE this age! She's almost 11 months and just about everything she does is new, cute, precious and news/pictureworthy. I am trying to soak it in so I can remember this time when she's throwing temper tantrums in the grocery store...
She loves to walk along with her ride-on and walker toys. She will let go and stand there...put a foot forward...I grab my camera...then she moves the foot back and grins at me like, "gotcha again!" Our little stinker!
If she doesn't want to put a toy down to crawl around, so she will put it in her mouth and crawl around with it there. It looks SO FUNNY - especially when she has one of the 'little people' in her mouth and she's crawling around - or over - the little people houses - she looks like King Kong terrorizing a village!
She loves 'pat-a-cake' and 'itsy bitsy spider' and will do her fingers together and put her arms in the air like the spider is crawling up the spout - then she claps and grins and waits for us to clap and say 'yay!' because of course she KNOWS we will clap at anything she does!
I am having so much fun playing dress-up with her. No...not costumes yet...just her clothes, but with hair bands or hats and cute socks and matching bibs. She looks like a little diva everytime we leave the house! I was a tom-boy so I am fully anticipating the day when she decides she won't wear dresses anymore, but until then, game on!
I've been playing on picnik.com some more, collages are my new favorite. I'll include some. I am also updating her 'watch me grow' slide show with this and last months's giraffe pics. Only two more of those sessions to go and I think we are both ready for this tradition to be over! I have some great pics from these sessions though, and I think the weekly sessions in her 1st six months taught her how to smile for the camera...all I have to do is pick it up and she starts posing now!
I have started to plan her first birthday party. Man...time does fly!

Natalie's first snow and how she reacted - she was fascinated and kept pointing out the window and 'talking' to us. It was so cute!

Long time coming...
I know, I know...It's been too long for even a 'sporadic' blogger when her 9 month old is changing literally by the day. Natalie is officially on the go! She is crawling all over the place, suddenly deciding one morning that she could do it, off she went, much to our surprise and delight! (and thoughts of 'oh man, we didn't baby proof!') She is also pulling up on everything: toys, couches, us, she even tried to pull up on the cat, but he was having none of it.
And then she did something that I thought was truly amazing...I know, I'm her mom so I think everything she does is amazing, but this truly is...and of course I happened to be in the shower. I am with her 24/7 and the one time I go take a shower after Jon gets home, she does something news worthy, of course! Jon said she was on her knees and sort of crouched forward to her hands, then pushed up to her toes, brought her hands up and then slowly and wobbly STOOD UP in the middle of the floor, not holding on to anything!! I couldn't believe it, and I couldn't believe I missed it!
From what I recall from my younger sibblings, cousins, kids I babysat, nursery/daycare I worked at (veeery briefly) I can't remember ever hearing of a baby just standing up like that before walking. Usually a baby will pull up on furniture and cruise all around, from couch to chair, coffee table, whatever, but once they finally get the courage to let go from a standing position, they start to walk. I have never heard of a baby balancing to a standing position without holding on to anything before he/she can even walk! Am I just a proud (dilusional) momma who thinks my baby is brilliant? She has my balancing Yoga gene! Also, when she pulls up on something, she will often let go with both hands, and when she begins to sway one way or the other she will correct herself. I've counted 15 seconds before she falls or grabs the nearest couch/person/whatever. She is going to be walking before we know it!
We took a trip to the beach (Gulf Shores) with Poppa and Mimi at the first of the month. It was very windy at the beach, but the temp. was nice most of the time we were there. Natalie traveled very well (we were worried it would be a scream-fest!)

My first Valentines Day present
Many of the pics from the beach turned out dark for some reason, so I am playing around with them at picnik.com - a really cool website. I thought these two (above and below) turned out the best so far. I'll add more later.
And then she did something that I thought was truly amazing...I know, I'm her mom so I think everything she does is amazing, but this truly is...and of course I happened to be in the shower. I am with her 24/7 and the one time I go take a shower after Jon gets home, she does something news worthy, of course!
